A 17-year-old boy was arrested Sunday morning in Compton Park for allegedly shooting and killing of a 12-year-old child, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
The little boy was shot dead by fig/Green Park in a small entertainment venue in Compton City, near the intersection of Oris Street and Oriander Avenue.
A man wearing black clothes and a black ski mask was found running around the area. Investigators gathered evidence and identified the juvenile as a suspect, and the judge issued an arrest warrant.
Law enforcement officers arrested him at about 10 a.m. Sunday and booked him at the sheriff's station for alleged homicide. He was taken to a juvenile detention center.
The victim was treated at the scene by Compton Fire Health Caregivers and then transported to the hospital, where doctors later declared him dead.
