17-year-old Jovic

Iva Jovic, 17, crossed Colombia’s Emiliana Arango 6-4, 6-1 on Sunday to finish her dream week in Guadalajara to capture her first WTA title.
The Southern California native finished 73rd in three straight times to finish a tense opening scene before dominating the entire game, defeating six times overall and snatching the final four games of the game to finish in an hour and 34 minutes.

In 17 years and 283 days, Jovic became the youngest player to win the Tour title in 2025, surpassing Dubai champion Mirra Andreeva for 16 days. She will be ranked in the top 50 for the first time on Monday, rising to No. 36.
“You showed a lot of battles and gave people a show,” Jovich told Alango at the trophy ceremony. “It wasn’t easy to start a tour when you were young…but people like Emiliana made it easier and always smiled on their faces.”
Jovic also showed off her fight, winning three three-game winning streaks in her five games in Mexico.
She has added more and more fresh faces to the elite. According to the WTA, 11 other players finished in the top 50 in 2025:
