Paul leaves PSG as 2025 season comes to an end – Tennis Now

Tommy Paul hasn’t played since losing to Alexander Bublik in the third round of the U.S. Open, and that’s not going to change anytime soon.

The 20th-ranked 28-year-old American has had his season all but ended by withdrawing from next week’s Paris Masters.

Paul, who has been dealing with left foot issues for months, has seen his momentum sapped in the second half of 2025. He reached the quarterfinals at each of his first two Grand Slams, but lost in the second round at Wimbledon and the Thunder in New York. He compiled a 29-13 record over the course of the season and cracked the top 10 for the first time in January, but as injuries aggravated (he also had an abdominal issue at Roland Garros), Paul fell out of the top 10 in June.

He ruptured ligaments in his left foot at Wimbledon and everything changed. As a player who relies on court skills and amazing athleticism, it’s easy to understand why Paul struggled to find his footing after the injury.

A long offseason should give him a chance to get healthy and return to form in 2026.
