Orreco acquires Data Driven Sports Analytics (DDSA) to build tennis’ first comprehensive performance science and artificial intelligence intelligent platform

Orreco, a global leader in applied sports science, biomarkers and artificial intelligence-driven athlete preparation, today announced the acquisition of Data Driven Sports Analytics (DDSA), a Melbourne-based tennis analytics company that has become one of the most influential forces in elite tennis over the past five years.
The partnership brings together Orreco’s world-class science team, including sports scientists, physiologists, data scientists and recovery experts across the NBA, NFL, Premier League and Olympic sports, with DDSA’s tennis-specific analytics, AI-powered computer vision, opponent scouting models and match performance intelligence used by some of the sport’s biggest champions.
Together, the parties will create the first fully unified tennis performance system integrating biomarker-driven preparation and recovery science, AI-based match analysis, tactical patterns and opponent scouting, movement and biomechanical proxies derived through computer vision and season-long load modeling and biorhythms.

“We are extremely excited to partner with Shane and the DDSA team,” said Dr. Brian Moore, CEO of Orreco. “We immediately understood why DDSA was the choice for Tennis Champions. Their advanced computer vision and artificial intelligence technology provides game-changing insights for players, coaches and federations.”
“We are already developing apps for athletes in football, basketball and the Olympics. Combining our AI-powered physiology, training, nutrition and female performance modules gives athletes a world-leading platform to compete at the highest levels of world sport.”
The acquisition represents a shift in tennis—from siled data sources to a comprehensive, science-first ecosystem capable of supporting athlete efforts in training, competition, recovery and long-term development.
Combining performance science with player reality
“DDSA has been an important part of my ability to analyze opponents, develop my game and make better decisions on the court,” world No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka said in a statement provided to Tennis Now. “Partnering with Orreco brings two leaders together with a vision to help athletes prepare to win. This is an exciting step forward for high-performance tennis.”
Sabalenka’s comments highlight players’ strong affinity for DDSA’s service. Three-time Grand Slam finalist Ons Jabeur is another satisfied customer of Linayage and DDSA.
“Sean and DDSA helped my coaches interpret complex data that affects my preparation and helped me gain a deeper understanding of my game,” said the Tunisian trailblazer. “I’m proud to have acquired an equity stake in DDSA, and now I’m even more excited to see DDSA join forces with Orreco. This partnership has the potential to take tennis analytics to a whole new level.”
Jabeur coach Issam Jellali praised the DDSA for providing valuable input to the Jabeur team.
“DDSA was instrumental in helping Ons rise from outside the top 50 to No. 2 in the world and reach three Grand Slam finals. Their technical and tactical analysis not only gives us an edge in decision-making not only on the court but also off the court. Orreco’s global reputation and scientific expertise combined with DDSA’s tennis acumen provides a strong opportunity for the future of our sport.”

Linayage said Orreco will only enhance the tactical sophistication of DDSA through scientific rigor, biological background and season planning intelligence based on physiology and recovery time.
Sabalenka’s coach Anton Dubrov said the DDSA provided important support and even changed the way four-time Grand Slam champion Sabalenka organizes her tournament schedule.
“We began working with DDSA in late 2020 and immediately saw how their analysis improved the way we prepare,” he said. “It changes training, decision-making, even how we organize the season.
“Oreko’s leadership in athlete preparation makes this a natural evolution. Together they can push tennis performance into entirely new realms.”
Ai Sugiyama, Japan’s Billie Jean King Cup captain and former doubles world No. 1, said DDSA also inspired her from a coaching perspective.
“As Japan’s BJK Cup captain, I’ve seen firsthand how DDSA’s PlayerDex app has transformed our match commentary and scouting. With DDSA joining Orreco, tennis will finally have a unified, science-driven performance system for training, recovery, injury management and match analysis,” she said.
Known for its tennis artificial intelligence computer vision, tactical, technical and biomechanical agent-level game analysis, DDSA created PlayerDex and DDSA Trax software to help players, coaches and analysts integrate and absorb information to improve tennis performance.
With the acquisition of Orreco, the combined platform will provide the most complete picture of a tennis team’s performance ever – covering biology, biomechanics, tactics, training, recovery and predictive artificial intelligence.
