Early in the movie, Buckaroo did indeed break into the eighth dimension, and he accidentally brought the aliens back. Buckaroo also finds himself the target of an evil scientist who wants to steal his work and the eighth-dimensional alien invasion. It's a good thing that Buckaroo has a rock band supporting him, because otherwise humans are doomed to fail.
