Health authorities say
Local authorities told Reuters earlier on Monday that Israel caused at least 20 people and dozens of people were injured in a displaced school housing in Gaza.
Israel stepped up its military operations in the enclave in early May, saying it was seeking to eliminate Hamas’ military and ruling capabilities and bring back the remaining hostages seized in October 2023.
Dozens of casualties include women and children during a school strike near Daraj, Gaza city, medical staff said.
According to images circulating on social media, some of the bodies were severely burned, Reuters could not verify immediately.
Israeli forces attacked Hamas Control Center in Gaza on Sunday, with the goal of “planning and gathering intelligence to conduct terrorist attacks on Israeli civilians and IDF forces,” the Israeli military said on Monday.

Gaza Media Office said Israel controlled about 77% of the enclaves through its ground forces, or evacuation orders and bombing kept residents away from their homes.
The Israeli movement in Hamas Islamic militants attacked Israeli communities on October 7, 2023 caused an attack of about 1,200 people, destroying Gaza and pushing almost all of its 2 million residents out of their homes.
Gaza health authorities said the attack killed more than 53,000 people, many of them civilians.
