Russia proposes more ceasefire negotiations, but Ukraine wants to look at the plans first – Country

The Kremlin hopes Russia and Ukraine will have a list of conditions for a ceasefire in the Ukrainian war in Istanbul next week.
Russia proposes to hold a second round of talks with Ukraine in Istanbul on June 2. But Ukraine wants to see a proposal for a peace agreement made by Russia before sending a delegation to Tukui, Andrii Sybiha said on Friday.
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said the Russian delegation will travel to Istanbul and prepare to hold talks with Ukraine on Monday morning.
Peskov told reporters: “At present, everyone is focused on direct negotiations from Russia-Ukraine. He said the details of the memorandum will not be published.

Reuters reported earlier this week that conditions for Putin to end the Ukrainian war include Western leaders’ commitment to write letters to stop expanding NATO eastern.

Ukraine’s envoy, Keith Kellogg, said earlier Friday that Russia’s focus on the expansion of NATO eastern is fair and that the United States does not want to see Ukraine in a US-led military coalition.
Commenting on Kellogg’s statement, Peskov said Putin has been communicating Russia’s position on the inability and inability to NATO’s eastern expansion.
“We are very happy to understand these explanations of the president, including in Washington. Of course, it’s very attractive to us in terms of the mediation role that Washington continues to play,” Peskov said.
Russia fought eight years in eastern Ukraine between Russian-backed separatists and Ukrainian forces, and began a full-scale invasion of Ukraine in February 2022.
