Unified Pension Plan Update: Government Expands Additional UPS Benefits to NPS Retirees

According to a statement issued by the Finance Department on or before March 31, 2025, a spouse who has at least 10 years of qualified service or their legal wedding can claim additional benefits of the claimed Uniform Pension Plan (UPS) under the Uniform Pension Plan (UPS) (UPS).
The added benefits include a one-time payment (once), which is one-tenth of the last basic salary and precious allowance for each six months of qualified service.
Calculate monthly top-up amount (DR) minus the amount of representative annuity under NPS based on acceptable UPS expenses + respect (DR).
Additionally, they will receive arrears with simple interest, depending on the applicable PPF rate.
The benefits of UPS can be claimed in physical mode or online mode.
Physical mode requires access to DDO and submitting the form (subscriber & B4/B6 B2-for spouses of legal weddings). The form can be downloaded from below – www.npscra.nsdl.co.in/ups.php
In the case of online mode, qualified persons can log in to www.npscra.nsdl.co.in/ups.php to fill out the online form.
The last date for claims of benefits is June 30.
The Pension Fund Regulation and Development Authority (PFRDA) has officially notified the operation of the pension plan in accordance with the NPS Regulations, which came into effect on April 1, 2025.
These regulations enable three categories of central government employees to enroll. The first category covers existing central government employees covered by the NPS as of April 1, 2025, while the second category includes recruits in central government services who join the service on or after April 1, 2025.
The third category includes the delayed or voluntary retirement or retired central government employees under the Basic Rule 56(j) on or before March 31, 2025 and who are eligible for UPS or legal weddings in case of retired or retired subscribers competing and have retired and exercised and exercised before they compete.
