Trump is reportedly planning to extend the suspension of Tiktok ban

President Donald Trump plans to stop implementing the Tiktok ban again Wall Street Journal Report. Trump had previously extended the pause on April 4 to give Tiktok more time to reach a deal with its potential U.S. buyers and the Chinese government, but the deal has made little progress since then.
The current law enforcement pause should end on June 19. Given the negotiation situation between the United States and China, the chances of a deal reached before this seem extremely unlikely. The Trump administration attempted to impose volatile tariffs on goods produced outside the United States, the issue began on April 2, with one including a 125% tariff and 125% tariffs for all goods departing from China.
according to The New York Timesbut no public mention of the Tiktok sale is a key part of the discussion. Many investors are still seeking to own a portion of the U.S. version of the app, including software company Oracle, which has a pre-existing relationship with Tiktok as a cloud provider.
The Tiktok ban came into effect on January 19. Tiktok tried to appeal the ban in advance, but the Supreme Court finally decided to uphold it, prompting Trump’s first executive order to suspend the ban on January 20, 2025.
