A senior Indian police official told the country’s national news agency ANI on Thursday that a man – a man doomed to fail Air India flies to crashed London Shortly after the departure of the city of Ahmedabad, survived the disaster.
Air India later confirmed that there was a “single survivor” in the crash and was identified as a “British Indian National”.
Indian media talks with the man at the local hospital, he says he is British citizen Weswash Kumar Ramesh.
“It’s all happening in front of my eyes,” Ramesh said in an interview with Indian TV Store. “I don’t believe in my way of living. For a while, I thought I would die too. But when I opened my eyes, I realized I was still alive and tried to untickle myself from my seat and escape.”
“It felt like the plane was stuck for 5-10 seconds,” Ramesh said within a minute after taking off. He said there was a small open space outside the plane and he was able to get out.

Dr. Dhaval Gameti of Ahmedabad Civil Hospital told the Associated Press that he checked Ramesh and the crash survivor “had suffered multiple injuries on his body, but he seemed to be out of danger.”
Gameti told the Associated Press that the bodies of 186 passengers on the plane had been taken to a civil hospital.
Indian media, who spoke to Ramesh at the hospital, said he had a bad luck flight ticket showing his name and seat 11A.
“Thirty seconds after takeoff, a huge sound was made and the plane crashed. It was all so fast,” The Times of India quoted Ramesh as saying. The newspaper said he reported that his chest, face and feet were “affected.”
His survival news comes after officials initially reported that everyone on board was killed in the crash.

Video of the crash shows the plane before flying over low altitude on the building and then dropping, followed by a huge explosion that sent a huge fireball into the air.
CBS News Partner Network BBC News spoke with Ramesh’s cousin Ajay Valgi, who said in the UK that he spoke with Ramesh by phone on Thursday.
“He only said he was good, nothing else,” Vargi said.
Ramesh had been sitting on the plane next to his brother, but the whereabouts of his brother were not yet known, he said.
“I’m very upset,” Vargi said. “Not only is he my cousin, he’s one of my best friends.”
