Confused AI Drive Browser Opens to Select Windows User

The company’s CEO said Confusion plans to open its Comet browser, which is powered by Windows users’ “agent searches”. Aravind Srinivas released Comet’s Windows Build on X, ready and has sent invitations to early testers. The CEO of Perplexity also hinted at a potential release of Android devices, adding that it “moves at crazy speeds and moves ahead of time.”
In May, Cllexity launched a beta version of its AI-Power Comet browser, which is only available to Mac users running Apple Silicon. Smart browsers come with AI features such as the ability to ask questions, check out discounts on shopping carts and mine unresolved emails. The beta version even shows the “try” feature, where users can upload their own photos, and the Comet will produce an image of them wearing the selected clothes.
There is still no official debut, but Srinivas has previously hinted at an upcoming release in X posts earlier this month. Comets still only provide waitlists for those interested, but the browser has caused controversy. The company’s CEO previously commented in a podcast interview that said confusion will use Comet “even if you get data outside of the app to get better understanding of you.” Srinivas later clarified on X that the comment was sent out from the context, adding: “In terms of target advertising, each user will be selected not to be part of the personalization”. When Comet is released, proxy browsers will face competition from opera neon lights and similar products from Google and Openai.
