According to Minear, the decision to kill Bobby was “fully creative” and had nothing to do with Klaus himself.

“[It was] It was a very difficult creative decision because there was almost no one on earth who I liked better than Peter,” Minear told The Outlet. “I think it needs to be Bobby for a lot of reasons. The first reason is that it makes sense. It's not arbitrary because if you track the tragic arc of his character, where he started and how he came to find atonement, there's a tragic meaning for his character, somehow for another character. ”

Marear further stressed that Bobby's death affects “every character's story, and there are actually no other characters who die.”

Bobby's wife Athena was particularly excited on Thursday's episode as she said goodbye from the other side of the facility door.
