“Squid Game” provides a painful, heartbreaking last part

Squid GameThe first season seemed to fall from the sky in 2021, spanning nine episodes and bringing Netflix its biggest hit to date, winning Emmys for creators Hwang Dong-Hyuk, Star Lee Jung-Jae and others. Season 2 arrived in late 2024 with seven episodes, three years after the event in the first season. Six months later, the third season is here. It only has six episodes and starts immediately after season two.
Hopefully Netflix has just released Season 2 and Season 3, which is tempting, and it’s almost enough time to forget some plot points, but not enough for viewers to want a full revisit – but you can see why the decision was made. Although its plot quantity is abbreviated, Squid GameThe third and final season is still six hours, with pain and cruel amounts injecting that run time.
Of course, most of the pain and cruelty are direct consequences of the events in Season 2, especially when the third season begins. Player 456, Gi-Hun (Lee Jung-Jae), is the only survivor of the rebellion, except for 388 (Kang Ha-neul) (Kang ha-neul) (they crashed while retrieving more ammunition, while 120 (Park Sung-hoon), he followed him for so long. Player 001 (Lee Byung-hun) is considered dead, although we certainly know he was just returning to his ex full time.
Player 456 is confused by how he breathes. He almost paralyzed the survivor’s inner gui and laser beam’s determination, making his own failure pay 388. But other players unexpectedly stride forward with miraculous rewards. Most of them are more focused on bonuses, which is multiplied by player fights and subsequent rebellions. These events also give the “O” side a significant advantage over the “X” side, which means that despite a lot of bleeding lately, the next vote will be beneficial to continue the game.
This is a non-message-maker review, so we won’t get into the specific game introduced in Season 3, despite previously revealing the jump changes – but rest assured that they follow the classic Squid Game childhood favorite Squid Game recipes, expand into delicate sets, and then blend with shocking violence. Especially this season, they tend to play in the offense of players, so much so that they are actively included in the game. The result is bloody, heartbreaking or satisfying, depending on whether the victim is likable or annoying.
But this is Squid Game; The focus is “victory or death”. The audience already knows that most players, even those who actually look like good people, will not end. Again, we won’t spoil any details here – the fun of the show is thinking that someone is safe, just being frightened or else it will prove – but some deaths do make you hope that Season 2 and Season 3 are merged into one. This will make the investment feel more meaningful for individual players, especially those who die early in the season but die late in the actual game cycle.

Of course, if you have the time, you can fix this by watching Season 2 immediately before Season 3. This approach can also help you dive into the side plot involving No-Eul (Park Gyu-Young), where the North Korean military veterinarian turned into a pink defender. Do you still remember the sick little girl he met while working in the amusement park at the beginning of season 2? Whose father suddenly appeared at the Olympics with a score of 246? Everything becomes very important in her season 3 arc, which also features No-Eul’s own bloody rebellion.
at the same time, Squid GameAnother big side plot – a mercenary led by Detective Jun-ho (Wi Ha-Joon), frantically searching for the island where the game took place – ultimately justifies all the time in Season 2. Viewers know that the Captain is secretly destroying the mission, but the show reveals this revelation to Jun-Ho and the company with some unexpected twists and turns, just like the game itself, a ticking locking element that puts tensions to high levels.
In season three, other elements come into play: masked “VIPs” who return to the game to watch and provide brutal comments in the form of pleasant English conversations. There are a lot of the latter this time, you have to imagine Squid Gamecreators are leaning towards its inducement.
The cross necklace belonging to the not-soon-long-term Thanos discovered new importance as other players consumed the hidden drugs he left behind. It’s no secret that Player 222 (Jo Yu-Ri) is pregnant in season 2. Netflix’s marketing in the last part even included the sound of babies crying, and it’s no surprise that the situation is around the most exciting moments of Season 222 Season 3.
But the center Squid GameThe universe has been the gastrointestinal tract, and in season 3, it’s still the case. Even though in some episodes he has little conversation, Lee’s performance speaks a lot: his expression, especially in his eyes, the telegram is the depth of his pain. He has witnessed many deaths in the last game, and the cycle is still here, he is already working on it. The audience still can’t help but take root for him, but in season 3, you’re worried about him, too. His soul was obviously ineffective.

Gastrointestinal pain anchor Squid Game Season 3 is in a deep place; there are far fewer relaxing moments to find, which can be challenging for some viewers. But in the end, the story does figure out how to interrupt this vicious final chapter in an unforgettable, very terminal way. However, you can make your sight very much like a teasing on Netflix for more.
Squid Game Season 3 is now streaming on Netflix.
