Tropical storm Bari forms on the eastern coast of Mexico

Miami (AP) – Tropical storm Barry has formed and is expected to bring heavy rain to Mexico’s Atlantic coast in the next few days, Miami’s National Hurricane Center says

The Hurricane Center said at 11 a.m. ET that the storm center is located about 90 miles (140 kilometers) southeast of the Mexican tuxedo and about 165 miles (265 kilometers) southeast of Tampico, Mexico.

The maximum sustained wind is measured at 40 mph (65 kph). Barry moved northwest at 6 mph (9 kph).

From Boca de Catan to the south along the Mexican coast of Tecolutla, the tropical storm warning is actually effective.

The storm is expected to strengthen slightly before reaching the eastern coast of Mexico. After the system moves inland, it is expected to weaken rapidly.
