As you might expect, multiple Spidey reveals are scene director Jon Watts, whose team spent a lot of time planning and even consulting sources of surprises to help shape things: reddit.
According to the Collider, Watts discussed more at a panel at the Mediterranean Film Festival in Malta. While it is crucial to have Maguire and Garfield’s involvement secret, fans still have some idea of what’s in it because of the facts and scene environments they shot during the pandemic and the scene environments are more closed than usual.
“There are rumors that Toby and Andrew are going to be in the movie, and this is when we shoot it,” Watts explained. “This is another example of how you have a script that is working, but that doesn’t mean it’s perfect. You can keep getting better. We’re writing scripts, we’re trying to reveal where these guys are, and Peter always seems to be sad because Aunt Aunt May just died and these portals will open and two Spider-Man will grow gradually.”
He continued. “It could be the roof of somewhere. It’s a little hazy. You’re still trying to figure it out.”

It was sad, two weird portals were open, and two Spider-Man were walking out. I was like, ‘Okay, we can’t do it.”
Of course, the portal is still a necessary part of how “Peter Two” and “Peter Three” join the action, but the roof setting quickly bites the dust. We hope that those Reddit fans artists see Watts’ quote and realize their power in helping shape movies.
