Monsoon rains and flash floods have killed at least 72 times in Pakistan

Islamabad (AP) – Ten Days Monsoon rains and mountain floods Pakistan killed at least 72 people and injured 130 people, the National Disaster Management Agency and local officials said on Monday.
The death toll since June 26 is reported in several provinces: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, eastern Punjab, southern Sindh and southwest Bal Ludhistan.
The National Disaster Management Agency urged local officials to remain on high alert and advised tourists to avoid visiting affected areas, as more rainfall could hinder the highway and cause flash floods.
Emergency services have been on the highest alert since last month, after 17 visitors to the family were swept away by the SWAT river in the northwest. Four were rescued, and the bodies of the other 13 were later recovered. Videos circulated online by the family, stranded on the roof and begging for help, sparked anger and charges from emergency staff.
Authorities warn that they cannot rule out the repetition of extreme weather like the devastating floods of 2022 One third of the country killed 1,737 people
