While we still prefer Amazon’s Fire TV Stick HD as a budget streaming option, Fire TV Stick 4K is the biggest worthy of your upgrade. Amazon’s devices support 4K video, Dolby Atmospheric, HDR10+, if you have a newer router with Wi-Fi 6e. This is the best option if you are committed to crypto dances – an even-functional fire TV cube requires a TV stand to rest – a great option if you are looking for a capable retro gaming console.

Amazon also adds several features to the Fire TV Stick 4K maximum feature that can move it beyond basic streaming. The built-in ambient experience allows dongles to display artwork and widgets when they are not using the TV, unlike Samsung’s “frame” and “Frame Pro”. Fire TV Stick 4K Max can also stream games from Xbox Game Pass using the Xbox App or Amazon Luna.
The only real reason to not consider the Amazon platform is that if you don’t like using Alexa (as the primary voice interface for all fire TVs), don’t want to push it to Amazon’s services, or your subscription is tangled on another platform. You can buy subscriptions to various streaming services and live channels through Amazon Prime Video, but if you’ve already done this on Apple TV+, you might need to wait for a subscription before jumping.
