Bullets fired from the Gaza Strip were gently injured on Sunday, an IDF soldier near the junction of Sha’ar Hanegev.
The IDF said bullets from Gaza were fired from Gaza on Sunday and hit an IDF vehicle at the junction of Sha’ar Hanegev.
According to preliminary information provided to the Regional Council, the fire could have been accidental, from IDF troops in Gaza. The incident only resulted in minor injuries to the soldiers and minor injuries to the vehicle.
Uri Epstein, head of the regional committee of Sha’ar Hanegev, responded to the incident in a huge way: “We take this incident very seriously. I spoke with the commander of the division a few minutes ago and asked for the full outcome of the military investigation and what actions to take and what actions will be taken in the future to prevent similar incidents. I stressed that I cannot change the incident in the area, and this situation will happen in the area, but this situation is in the area, but this situation is in the area, and this situation is in the area.
According to Epstein, despite the small wounds, the incident highlights the vulnerability of local security conditions.
He took the opportunity to criticize the state’s decision to lift security restrictions in the area: “The state has determined that returning to the border community no longer has security issues, but here we ignore the consequences of understanding its decision. We will not accept the danger of living on the Council territory. We call on all security officials and decision-making officials to ensure that all residents are living, which are residents, our residents are safe, our residents are safe, our residents are safe, our residents are our residents.

Return to the border community
It is worth noting that just two weeks ago, the Israeli government approved, based on the Defense Ministry’s recommendation, the removal of security restrictions from 12 of the Gaza border communities, effective on July 1, 2025. These include Be’eri, Kfar Aza, Nirim, Nir Oz, Sufa, Netiv Ha’asara, Nir Yitzhak, Kerem Shalom, Ein Hashlosha, Nahal Oz, Virgin and Hollett.
The decision brings all citizens back to their homes and allows preparations for the upcoming school year for the community itself.
Meanwhile, the Tekuma Authority announced that the reconstruction and renovation work has been completed in Kerem Shalom, Re’im, Nirim and Ein Hashlosha. Nevertheless, many residents and local leaders of Gaza border communities continue to express reservations to the decision, demanding that the area be able to return safely.
Meanwhile, the question continues to echo throughout the region: Is it really time to go home, or is the government acting eagerly in its decision?
