While TV adaptation books are in progress, HBO’s new Harry Potter is in progress

HBO has officially begun to be in the highly anticipated Harry Potter The network announced on Monday that the TV series adaptation also revealed the titular character.

Photos released by HBO show Dominic McLaughlin as Harry Potter wearing an autographed Hogwarts uniform with round glasses and lightning scars, unlike the iconic outfit Daniel Radcliffe wore in the eight-part movie series.

The show begins with Warner Bros. Studios leaving the UK production and is expected to debut in 2027.

A new round of cast members was announced Monday, including Rory Wilmot as Neville Longbottom, Amos Kitson as Dudley Dursley, Louise Brealey as Mrs. Rolanda Hooch and Anton Lesser and Garrick Ollivander.

The network announced in late May that McLaughlin was played as Harry Potter, Arabella Stanton was Hermione Granger and Alastair Stout was Ron Weasley.

Several high-profile actors have been announced in other key roles, including Paapa Essiedu as Severus Snape, John Lithgow as Albus Dumbledore and Katherine Parkinson as Molly Weasley.

The new series adaptation began production nearly 14 years after the last movie adaptation of JK Rowling’s books. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2released in theaters. In addition to blockbuster movies, the franchise has inspired Broadway’s drama, video games and theme parks, and has released its first edition 28 years ago.

The network previously wrote that the new series will be “faithfully adapted the Beloved Harry Potter Book” and sparked a new generation of fanatics with an exciting and talented cast, full of fantastic details and beloved character Harry Potter fans have been adoring for over 25 years.”
