IHG adds two new ANA Holiday Inn to portfolio

Hotel group IHG Hotels & Resorts has reached a new agreement with FET system to rebrand two existing hotels in Sanda and Tosu in Japan for ANA Holiday Inn.

This reinvention marks the introduction of the first international brand hotel in two locations.

The 130-room Celecton Premier Kobe Sanda Hotel will be reinvented as Ana Holiday Inn Kobe Sanda.

Similarly, the Bientos will become Tosu’s Ana Holiday Inn with 126 rooms.

Both organizations plan for major renovations before transitioning to the Holiday Inn brand next year.

The hotels will feature the brand’s signature open lobby concept and are expected to enhance the brand’s growing presence in Japan, currently including 15 open and plumbing holiday hotels.

Globally, the brand operates 1,241 open hotels and 273 hotels under development.

“The Holiday Hotel brand enjoys a good scale and reputation in Japan and around the world, and is the right choice for these locations, given the combination of guests, we look forward to welcoming guests to Ana Holiday Inn Kobe and Ana Holiday Inn Tosu next year’s Ana Holiday Holiday Inn Tosu.”

Located 40 km north of Kobe, Sanda Hotel offers guests a range of outdoor activities such as hiking, cycling and golf. It also comes with meeting and event spaces to meet the needs of companies and casual guests.

Meanwhile, TOSU property is located 30 kilometers away from Fukuoka. It is expected to attract strong corporate demand due to local manufacturing.

“In Japan and globally, the demand for rapid market conversions for IHG brands and enterprise platforms remains high. Globally, conversions account for approximately 60% and 40% of our organic contracts in the first quarter of 2025.”

The extension comes after an earlier agreement with FET systems subsidiary Odate Royal Hotel this year launched Ana Holiday Ina Iwate Kitakami.

IHG’s expansion in Japan is part of a broader strategy, with the group currently owning 54 hotels in 10 brands in the country and 17 hotels under development.
