It only took Vimeo two years to realize that it would be stupid to delete all the TV apps

Business-focused video sharing and hosting platform Vimeo will bring back its Apple TV app after ending support for all TV apps in 2023. While the company hasn’t tried to be a YouTube competitor for the time being, TV apps have always been more convenient than Vimeo’s proposed solution to cast videos on smartphones or tablets.
The rebuilt Vimeo Apple TV app gives you access to Vimeo’s carefully curated employee selection library, your personal uploaded video library, and what you’ll watch later on saving what you’ve saved to your watchlist. Vimeo also says the app supports “enhanced playback with chapters, speed controls and multilingual options.” If your Apple TV is running 18 or higher and you have a free Vimeo account, the app can be downloaded and tried immediately.
Vimeo initially became a hub for direct YouTube competitors in 2017, and it abandoned its support for apps a few years ago. Since then, the company has viewed itself as a business service, providing a way for businesses and professional creativity to host and sell videos, and even building its own streaming service.
Rotating a new TV app doesn’t necessarily mean that Vimeo is changing its strategy, but if you’ve hang out with some student movies in your old Vimeo account, you now have an easier way to watch at home.
