Earthquake alarm: 4.5-magnitude earthquake shocks Chile’s San Antonio province
The US Geological Survey (USGS) said a magnitude 4.5 earthquake hit Chile’s San Antonio province.
USGS said the earthquake was 47 kilometers away from the Colchane area and had a depth of 121.1 kilometers.
No casualties or material damage was reported.
Chile is prone to earthquakes due to its location along the ring of fire. In 2010, a devastating 8.8-magnitude earthquake followed by a tsunami that struck central and southern Chile, killing 500 people.
