Golden Bachelor Gerry Turner reacts to comments from the Mel Owens era

Gerry, 73, told Fox News in an interview published Tuesday, July 22, “I think it’s unfortunate, I really think he’ll change his heart. I think he’ll see the grace and charm of women over 60, they bring their confidence and I think he’ll change his heart.”
Gerry was the first Golden Bachelor when the reality TV series debuted a premium version in 2023. In April, ABC announced that Mel, 66, would be the next person to take over the mantle, and soon after, lawyers claimed he wanted to lay off any potential suitors over the age of 60.
“The people I met in the season, I went through them, like, they were all gifts. Know them.” Gerry briefly married the champion of Season 1 Theresa Nist, Add to Fox News Digital. “Each of them [brought] Some of the unique features of the show are the unique features of life. ”
Gerry also advises Mel to “ignor this number” and instead focus on the “people” in front of him.
Mel revealed in an episode of the “Mgoblue” podcast in June that he told the producer that his age preference was a woman between 45 and 60 years old.
“[I] Have lunch with executive producers. I said, “You know, if they were 60 or 60, I was cutting them.” Mel said last month that he alleged that the producer told him that he couldn’t eliminate a woman just because of her age. ”[He said,] “Oh, Mel, you can’t, you know, this is not Bachelor of silver. yes Golden Bachelor. ‘He said: “But they will be hot, don’t worry. Don’t worry.”
Mel further stressed that he wanted to date a woman without any “artificial butts”.
“His comments on anyone with hip replacements or wigs or something like that, I really don’t believe in the producers in ABC casting, especially I have a high level of confidence in me, and I don’t think they’ll cast someone with a shallow perspective,” Gerry said. “I think some of them [his comments] Some context is required and may have been out of context, etc. ”
He added: “But the most important thing is that I hope he does look at it differently because if he doesn’t, I think he’ll cheat on himself.”
Although Mel has not further resolved the actor comments he is now arguing, the host is shown Jesse Palmer With confidence, the former footballer will perform well in the Bachelor role.
“Mel is obviously very handsome.
