Stephen Colbert jokes about possible new performances after post-show cancellation

In the episode of the Late Night series on Monday, July 28, Colbert, now 61, joked about taking a risk into the podcast while getting advice from Las Culturistas’ Bao Enyang and Matt Rogers.
“I need a show soon, so I sell my podcast. Is that fun?” he asked Young, 34, and Rogers, 35, while citing the time of his podcast on the 100 best podcasts of history.
Rogers joked that their podcast is likely to be at the bottom of the list, adding: “You start one and we’ll run into it. Almost certainly.”
He continued to recall the success of the podcast because they thought “no one would listen” when recording started in 2016.
“That’s what they want to connect and hear friendships in action,” he added. “Heard conversations between over-hired people.”
Rogers suggests Colbert stays “real” on a potential podcast, but Yang hosts a show involving Colbert dating his wife Evelyn Eveyne McGee Colbert.

“Dating each other, right?” Colbert asked. In response, Yang quipped, “It’s up to you. It’s really cute to me.”
Colbert confirms his next comments less than a month Party Canceled.
“I want you to know what you found last night before starting the show. Next year will be our last season,” Colbert announced in a July recording as the audience booed. “I share your feelings. It’s not only the end of our show, but the end of the post show on CBS. I’m not replaced. It’s all gone.”
He continued: “I do want to say that people at CBS have always been good companions. … I thank the audience, you join us every night, here, outside and around the world.”
Colbert confirmed at the time that CBS would “end the late show” in May 2026, but the specific date for the final episode has not been announced yet. Meanwhile, CBS executives released a statement to resolve their decision and revealed that this has nothing to do with the performance, content or other things that happened in Paramount, but rather due to financial conditions.

Cohen added: “I can’t believe CBS turned off the lights at 11:30 after local news. I was shocked. He was one of three late night shows and was considered worthy of the Emmy nomination. He made a great show.”
