Henry explained that when she walked into the car, carrying a bikini, she noticed a woman approaching her. “I think it could be one of two ways,” Henry said. “She either wants to say ‘Oh, it’s really cute’ or it could go downhill, right?”

“I told myself, ‘Gerlyn is just cool,’ she came to me and she said, ‘Are you a pastor or a pastor?'”

After Henry confirmed that she was a pastor, the woman replied, “I don’t know you can wear that,” referring to a swimsuit, and was surprised that clergy could wear bikinis.

In response, Henry said she gave the woman “out”.

Henry responded to the mixed reactions he received since telling the story online when he talked exclusively about the viral video.

She said: “I suspect that most pastors are savage people, so when they see a pastor somewhat savage online, they think, ‘Wait, they shouldn’t do that’” Henry explained: “I think priests are always expected to be kind and kind, but that doesn’t always mean kindness and courteousness. ”

“Of course, it’s important to teach women, especially young women and young men, to love and respect your body, and I think it’s been a message that has been the church for so long,” Henry said. “But how do you use that message and remind them that this messaging is about bikini, but about how you care and care for yourself?”

As a married priest, she made social media content and Henry knew she might not be a stereotype of what clergy should be.
