“Finally, thank you, Ethan. You’ve been with us for only 20 years, but you’ve moved many people’s lives. From when you were a baby to when we put you down in college, you’re definitely a kind of joy and glue that sticks together,” she wrote. “We remember your smile, laughter, how we can put us under control, and the many ways you bring happiness and light to any situation. There will never be another time. There will never be enough time to be with you. We love you, miss you, and promise to continue to respect your legacy.”
On the night of Ethan’s death, he joined his sister Maizie and then headed to 1122 King Road, where his girlfriend Kernodle lived.
While Ethan was sleeping, Kohberger broke in and stabbed roommates Mogen and Goncalves to death. After the initial murder, Kernel meets Koberg at home, and after a struggle, she is also killed. Ethan was the last person to lose his life and was later found in the bed after being fatally stabbed.
In a four-part documentary One night in Idaho: College murderPosted earlier this month, Stacy shared why their families don’t plan to attend Koberg’s sentencing like the families of other victims.
“Sitting in court just feels incorrect. Why am I going to sit in court with that guy?” Stacey said. “We won’t attend any hearings. What’s the purpose?”
