Salma Hayek’s legendary snake dance scene From dusk to dawn This week surfaced in conversation. People talk about it because there is little denial, it is a sexist dance scene that has been captured in the film.
What one might not know about the iconic scene is that Salma Hayek is so scared that Tarantino and director Robert Rodriguez have to brainwash and manipulate her to make her dance.
Salma Hayek suffers from phobia, an extreme, overwhelming fear of snakes. When she was told she would dance with someone, she initially refused.
As Hayek said,Quentin told me, “Oh, the way to dance with the snake.” I said, “I can’t do it, I can’t. It’s me, my biggest fear.” He said, “Madonna will do it. Yes, I’ve talked to her and she’s willing to dance with the snake.“
At that time, Hayek was not a big name, she needed this part. So, after being threatened, she pushed her fear. The results on the screen speak for themselves, but Hayek said she could only do it by being in a trance state, so there is little memory of really shooting a dance. She uses self-hypnosis to accomplish it.
Hayek said:To be honest, I really need to pay the rent. In some cultures, the snake represents – I start researching – your inner strength. The whole thing I brainwashed myself to do this is about dancing with my inner strength.“
She uses this self-washing hand to fully hypnotic. Then, she showed the whole dance somehow. It has no orchestration.
Hayek said:…It’s good because I have to overcome my biggest fear, I have to go dance, and improvise, dance is improvised because there is no choreography, nothing, nothing because you can’t choreography.“
From dusk to dawn It also gave George Clooney its first major leadership role. In the movie, both Clooney and Tarantino’s characters are hiding in the bar, and Salma Hayek’s character Santanico Pandemonium enters the stage and starts dancing with the large albino Burmese python. The performance puts the entire bar on track, but the scene continues to reveal two things: There is one thing in Tarantino, the entire bar is full of vampires.
The film was a success, and Salma Hayek’s iconic performance contributed to it. From dusk to dawn Later, there were sequels and prequels that spawned the entire franchise, and a TV show lasted for three seasons, with the latter two expanding Salma Hayek’s history in the cinematic universe and greatly expanding in the wider vampire myth.
The TV version of this film attempts to replicate the performance of Salma Hayek. For this version, she was replaced by Eiza Gonzalez.
This is not one of Salma Hayek’s biggest fears when preparing for her role. Hayek starred in Ajak eternal, Superhero team appointed leader and therapist. In the movie, Ajak continues to live in an isolated ranch in South Dakota when the group splits. The scene of Hayek riding on horses seems to be seamless on the screen, but due to Hayek’s riding phobia, it’s not that simple during the shooting, which is related to events from her childhood.
