Uttarakhand Weather Update: IMD issues orange, yellow alerts in several areas until August 14

The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) issued an orange and yellow alert on Sunday to warn of heavy to very heavy rains and thunderstorms between August 10 and August 14.

According to the weather department, heavy rain may occur in isolated places in the Bageshwar, Dehradun, Tehri, Pauli, Uttarkashi, Rudraprayag, Nainital, Nainital, Udham Singh Nagar and Champawat areas.

The meteorological department said thunderstorms accompanied by lightning could occur in isolated areas in all areas of Uttarakhand.

The orange alarm is a warning for extremely bad weather and has the potential to interfere with commuters with closed roads and railroads and interrupt power, while the yellow alarm is issued to citizens, involving severely harsh weather within a few days. This also suggests that weather may change as a result of deterioration, resulting in disruption in daily activities.

Meanwhile, the Uttarkashi regional government is constantly working to help people affected by the recent disasters in Dalari and Hashir. By 11 a.m. Sunday, 20 people had been rescued safely in Matli Helipad and after receiving first aid, they were taken to their destination.

The government said that the availability of basic commodities has been ensured in disaster-affected areas in Dalari and Hashill. Work on delivering food and other relief materials to each house has begun. Search and rescue operations are underway in the Dharali-Harsil area after Cloudburst.

One day ago, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said more than 1,000 people have been rescued after the recent flash flooding and mudslides in the recent Uttarkashi area, including devotees and pilgrims from all over the country.

CM Dhami asserted: “More than 1,000 people have been rescued. All the devotees and pilgrims from all over the country have been stuck and have been rescued… All the injured have been transferred to the hospital. Connectivity has completely destroyed Harsil. It has completely destroyed yesterday in Harsil.

Uttarakhand Health Minister R Rajesh Kumar said doctors were treating patients in Dharali and had 28 ambulances stationed in the area.
