Carlos Alcaraz won the 14th edition of the iconic Sinner v. Alcaraz competition, but his will was not. Espanyol won the game 5-0. Try to try it out in the highly anticipated final Monday when the Italian surrendered from his illness.
“I’m so sorry to let you down,” Sina told the fans. “I didn’t feel so good since yesterday. I thought I would improve at night, but it got worse. I tried to come out and try to do at least one small game, but I couldn’t handle more, so I’m so sorry.”
Defending champion Sinner, who saw his 26-game winning streak ended, worked hard from the start and dropped his first seven on the serve, trailing the double break before heading to the chair and placing the ice pack over his head.
Avoiding long-term gatherings in the matches he managed to play, Sina showed up early on and paid the price for his aggression in the form of non-compulsory errors. They pile up like Alkaraz’s game. When Alcaraz hit the ball with the sinners 0-4, 15-30, the Italian had just walked to the other side of the court and was ready to serve.
Two points later, the coach was called after he led the lead of 5-0 in the double game.

The sinner shook hands with Alcaraz, and later he came to comfort him in an anti-climax scene. The competitors have given fans a lot in their previous 13 meetings, and it’s weird to have one of their meetings end this way.
Alcaraz claims to be the ATP champion and will be ranked No. 1 in the ATP Live rankings of the U.S. public ranking point last year. He led the ATP championship with six strokes in 2025 and won the championship with 54 titles and 1,000 titles with 1,000 titles.
