The first step towards India’s accessibility toll
Choryasi’s project will mark India’s first transition to barrier-free tolls powered by Fastag-based electronic collections. Along with Gujarat, another agreement was signed with ICICI Bank to implement MLFF on Haryana’s NH-44 to implement MLFF in Gharaunda Fee Plaza.

“Important Milestone” in Expressway Modernization
Speaking at the signing ceremony, NHAI Chairman Santosh Kumar Yadav said, “This agreement to implement the Multi-Lane Free Flow tolling system marks a significant milestone in the evolution and modernization of tolling in India. By leveraging technology, it will establish the foundation for a more efficient, transparent, and user-friendly tolling ecosystem, aligned with our vision of technology-driven transformation in National Highway operations and will pave the way for adoption nationwide.”
The MLFF fee system works through a combination of a high-performance RFID reader and an automatic number board recognition (ANPR) camera, scanning FastAgs and vehicle registration numbers to enable electronic transactions. This ensures that the vehicle does not need to park in the toll plaza, alleviating traffic congestion and saving time.
According to NHAI, the adoption of MLFF will not only reduce traffic roar at the toll gates, but also improves fuel efficiency and reduces vehicle emissions by minimizing idleness. The system is expected to simplify revenue collection and help build a smarter and more efficient highway network in India.
