Madden Iamaleava follows brothers to UCLA

Nearly two weeks have passed since Tennessee head coach Josh Heupel announced that Nico Iamaleava will not return to volunteer next season.

Shortly after the announcement, the quarterback revealed that he would be transferring to UCLA in the 2025 season.

Now, the new Browns quarterback seems to have a potential backup he is familiar with.

Nico's brother Madden Iamaleava is also reportedly heading to Los Angeles. ON3 reports that the young Iamaleava intends to convert his commitment from Arkansas to UCLA.

Nico was contested by 247 sports in the 2025 high school quarterback as a four-star recruit. But Iamaleava's decision to file a lawsuit for Arkansas could have serious implications.

According to Front Office Sports, the name, image and similarities (NIL) of Arkanas collectively sent a demand letter to players demanding to fulfill the terms of the acquisition.

“Arkansas Zero Collective has sent players two demand letters to demand the terms of the acquisition, sources told Front Desk Sports,” a reporter at the store wrote on X. The ad's comments yesterday refer to multiple players who left before Neil's contract expired, including Madden Iamaleava. ”

The report says Arkansas is seeking $200,000 from Madden Iamaleava.

Heupel said Nico's decision to skip exercises in his contract negotiations with Tennessee, name, image, and similarity (NIL) led to a split.

Nico Iamaleava made $2.4 million on a zero contract. But when he signed it, it was reportedly worth $8 million. Iamaleava received initial payments while still in high school. ESPN reports that the total value of the deal may have reached nearly $10 million.

Iamaleava ended the 2024 season with volunteers and 19 touchdowns with 2,616 pass yards and 19 touchdowns.

UCLA completed its 2024 campaign, with a disappointing 5-7 record after its first season at the Big Ten conference.
