Luciano Darderi added more hardware to his trophy cabinet on Sunday when he won the ATP Challenger tour in Genoa, Italy to build his otherwise memorable summer.

The Italian won a back-to-back tour in Bastad and Umag in July, arriving in Henoa after the third round of the U.S. Open, where he ended up falling into champion Carlos Alcaraz.

Darderi lost only one set of games in five games in Genoa and beat the Aon Open Challenger Memorial Memorial Giorgio Messina Messina finals 6-1, 6-3. Darderi made his debut in the top 30 in the PIF ATP rankings, thanks to his efforts in New York, before he won the championship on the ground.

The 23-year-old won three of his four ATP Tour games this season. He also entered the third round at Wimbledon. Darderi’s victory in Genoa marks his fourth Challenger Championship.

In the action of other challengers, Peru’s Ignacio Buse also went from the final Grand Slam of the season to the winner’s circle. After he qualified for his Virgin Grand Slam on Flushing Meadows, Buse was crowned at Spain’s LXII Copa Sevilla after he fell in the first round after he fell to Ben Shelton.

Buse, 21, beat Argentina Genaro Alberto Olivieri 6-3, 3-6, 6-3 in the clay stadium final. Buse won his first Challenger Championship in June and is now in the career-high No. 112, close to his top 100.

Former 38th Alex Molcan won the Challenger Championship for the second consecutive time on Istanbul Challenger Ted Open. Molcan won the Sofia Challenger on a qualifier two weeks ago and won the Istanbul Trophy with a final 7-6 (9), 6-2 win.

The 27-year-old was down from No. 646 in the PIF ATP rankings in March, but is now returning to the top 200 – he has not been a member of him in 16 months.

British Billon Billy Harris celebrated the milestone by winning his first Challenger Championship in Cassis, France. The 30-year-old stood out from one match in both the semi-finals and finals, escaping Daniil Glinka 3-6, 7-5, 6-3.

Last September, Harris nearly entered the top 100, reaching a career-high 101.

Giulio Zeppieri, Italy, didn’t let go of a set of roads to win the Rolex Shanghai Masters all week. The 23-year-old broke all the matches three times, beating Japan’s Yasutaka Uchiyama 7-5 in the final, 7-5, during which Zeppieri beat 17 ACE. Lefty is a three-time Challenger Champion.

Marco Trungelliti is ranked fifth in the Nö Open offered by EVN in Tulln, Austria. Like Zeppieri, Trungelliti didn’t put a set and was broken only three times in the game. In the final, the fifth seed defeated Czech Andrew Paulson 7-5, 6-1.
