GST 2.0 Tax Rate Cut: Quickly Reduce Automatic Prices in Various Segments from Tata, Mahindra, Toyota to Modern

India’s auto industry has witnessed one of its biggest price corrections in recent years after the Goods and Services Tax (GST) Commission announced its GST 2.0 reform, reducing smaller passenger cars from 28% to 18%. The revised interest rate is September 22, 2025, and from hatchbacks to luxury SUVs prompted automakers to pass on considerable benefits to buyers. Discounts are just ahead of the festive season, which is the strongest time for demand in the industry.

Classic legends have lowered prices for the entire Jawa and Yezdi Motorcycles, and popular models such as Adventure, Roadster, Bobber and Scrambler are now positioned for Rs 2 million.

Mercedes Benz

Mercedes-Benz has lowered prices in its portfolio, with a reduction range of Rs 2.6 lakh to Rs 1.1 lakh. The relief span has been upgraded from A-class to flagship S-class.

Nissan cuts the price of the Amagite SUV, bringing several variants into the lower price band.

What does the price cut mean

The overall reduction is expected to make cars and two-wheelers affordable to middle-class buyers, providing new entry points for luxury buyers and increasing holiday demand. Automakers welcomed the reform, calling it one of the most important tax moves since the launch of the GST in 2017.
