India – EU FTA: Negotiators work together in different parts

Union Minister Piyush Goyal said on Tuesday that chief negotiators are working to bring together potentially different parts India-European Union Free Trade Agreement (FTA).
“Nearly 60% of the chapters have been completed and completed,” he said.
The minister also said that by the time the EU Trade Commissioner and EU Food Commissioner arrived in India, “we will be fully prepared to end the agreement”.

His remarks come at a time when India and the EU hope to be able to arrive in a possible potential free trade agreement.
Earlier this month, the 13th round of negotiations began in the national capital, discussing many issues such as non-tariff barriers, market access and agricultural responsibilities. Both parties hope to reach a contract by the end of this year.
Nearly half of the about twenty-two negotiation chapters have been reportedly closed, including intellectual property rights, customs and trade facilitation, digital trade and dispute settlement.
