As a casual Eminem fan, I don’t like every track in his catalog, but I respect him as an artist who almost went globally from nothing to dominance almost overnight. He has such a deep influence that Stan, the 2000 song of the same name, was officially added to the Oxford English Dictionary in 2017 to describe an obsessed fan. While constantly getting involved with Marshall Mathers music, media images and some of the funniest interview antics in rap, I had to check out the new Paramount+ documentary, Stanwhich opened his career, fame, struggles and, most importantly, his loyal global fan base.

Stan It was a strong involvement in the Eminem catalog, but despite the huge praise elsewhere, a Rotten Tomato’s comment outlined the point best: “At the heart of it is a documentary made by Eminem’s production company, which mainly deals with how Eminem is great and how Eminem fans think he is great.”

Call further for comment Stan I tend to agree with the practice of brand maintenance, rather than real documentaries. Still, anyone who is curious about Slim Shady’s life and time will find it worth a visit.

Stans are defined by positive light

Although “Stan” often carries negative implications, Diehard Eminem fans use the title as a badge of honor. Some of the films were interviewed to share how Eminem’s music helped them through a tough childhood, from bullying to broken houses. They believe that Marters directed his turbulent upbringing into the music, which was as much for them as he did.

After juxtaposing with archival clips and new interviews, Mathers pulled the curtains and spoke openly about his struggle with fame, substance abuse, and a desire for privacy when he was not performing.

Stans is 100% fan service

In addition to documenting Stan’s lifestyle, Stan Artists and entertainers such as Ed Sheeran, Carson Daly, LL Cool J and Adam Sandler, all actively talking about their interactions with the Mathers. Watch carefully (don’t blink or you’ll miss it) and you’ll even nod from Devon Sawa, who portrayed Stan in an iconic music video 25 years ago. The public lapses and collapses of Eminem are a positive part of his legend, and everyone appreciates the impact he has had on his life.

Eminem’s transfer to fans, causing his 2007 over-spiral downward spin, is a victory story that lets go of what is no longer for you. In one of the more touching sequences, Mathers talks in detail about wanting to be there when his daughter grows up, inspiring countless addicts to clean up for the same reason.

Not a real documentary, but a must-see for fans

although Stan As a traditional documentary, there is nothing to know about it. By showing the world the dedication of his fan base, we get a heart-warming story about people who feel silent about the people who find connections through Eminem’s music. As long as fanatics don’t enter the unhealthy parasocial realm, these stans will encounter anything harmful.

Stan is the most important + exclusive and can be streamed with active subscription.
