It’s safe to say that Joao Fonseca will never forget September 16, 2025.
The #NextGenatp Brazilian star has had an unforgettable moment before the Laver Cup begins. The 19-year-old met with Roger Federer on Tuesday.
“My hands are sweating because I’m going to see Roger,” Fonseca said in the Laver Cup video.

Shortly thereafter, the 103-time Tour-level Titlist arrived at the next ATP final of 2024 proposed by PIF Championship.
“Finally! It’s an honor to meet you,” Federer said. “Congratulations, so far, everything has done well in a great career so far.”
“They told me about 10 minutes ago, ‘You’re going to see Roger’,” Fonseca told Federer, showing Switzerland his sweaty palm.
The teenager will turn his attention to helping the world record this weekend Laver Cup trophy. The action began Friday at the Chase Center, home to the NBA Golden State Warriors.
