Twenty-time Grand Slam champion Federer made an interesting response, specifically saying: “Maybe we can create a federal trip.”
Federer, 44, looks very healthy and says he plays tennis regularly and is happy to reunite with his old rival, Lafayette.
“Why not? I love Rafa,” Federer told CNBC. “The other day, I played four hours of tennis in Los Angeles – in San Francisco, sorry – and then there was another half hour in Los Angeles.
“I’ve been trying to stay in good shape. And I know Rafa could play tennis in total. Sounds bad, senior tennis for us, but maybe we can tour like a tour like federal tours. I mean it’s cool.”

The King of Clay won 24 of his 24 out of 40 matches against Federer, who won seven of his final eight matches, including a five-set victory in the 2017 Australian Open final. Federer said part of the creation of the Laver Cup was to honor past championships.
“I think that’s one of the reasons I opened the Laver Cup, and it’s to reveal the game’s past,” Federer said. “Maybe it was a senior tour, we’ve had a little bit in the past, and I think it was really called the Championship Tour at the time. I think there’s also a lot of desire to see the past championships in tennis games.
