Of the 27 billion rupees, total revenue is taxed at nearly 16% in fiscal 25, a key focus of official data

The central government said on Friday that its total direct tax collection was Rs 27,02,974 crore during the 2024-25 period, ending on March 31, 2024. This marks a 15.6% increase in revenue it collects over its taxes, including its revenue tax for the previous year and corporate taxes, including its taxes for the previous year.

According to official notice, its net receipts rose 13.6% to Rs 22,262,31 crore.

Direct tax refund, or refund of excess payments paid through income tax assessment – 6% to Rs 4,76,743 crore compared to actual dues. In FY24, the actual refund record was Rs 378,255 crore.

Of the net income of Rs 22,26,231 crore, Rs 986,711.9 crore is charged as corporate tax with Rs 11,82,875 crore as non-corporate tax (including taxes paid by individuals and entities such as individuals and Indian families), and 53,296 Crore as Securities Tagitation (Securities Tagitation), under Securities Tagitativation (Securitivity Tagitation), under SECURACTION TAGE (NOT TASS) (not taxed) (not taxed) (sttt) (sttt), STTT).

The Income Tax Department records and releases official data on direct taxes such as corporate taxes and income taxes based on the Ministry of Finance.
