Anisimova Hands Gauff’s Loss in Beijing – Tennis Now

Amanda Anisimova The 24-year-old stormed his compatriot Coco Gauff in 58 minutes on Saturday in Beijing with a rude way to eliminate Gauff as she won eighth place this season.
In the first National Semi-final in Chinese public history, when she defended the champion with an amazingly relaxed ease, it was all Anisimova.
Two-time major finalists will bid for her second WTA 1000 title as Jessica Pegula or Linda Noskova in the final.
“It’s a really good performance – I know I’m going to have to do a great job against Coco to win,” Anisimova said.
“It’s very exciting and I’m so happy to be in the first final here.”
The sheer strength and timing of the Anisimova ground match is the story of the third meeting between the two on Saturday, and the first since 2022.

It was 5-0 at the opening ceremony and ranked third in the world, saving two fixed points to eventually make it to the board. Gauff fell to 14-2 in Beijing and even had two breakout points in the next game, but Anisimova dug out and ended the 27-minute game as a forehand winner.
Gauff wouldn’t stand it, as Anisimova also led 5-0 in the second game and won the game after Gauff’s mini rally.
Anisimova won 15 winners for Gauff and broke her countryman five times. She won almost twice the points, winning 59-30 in two championship games.
Gauff saw her wins in Beijing in ten consecutive victories. She won hardly any points on the serving field, and overall only 17 of her 44 points.
