Stefanos Tsitsipas There will be no tennis homecoming next week.
Tsitsipas has officially withdrawn from next week’s Athens Open, effectively ending his 2025 season.
The Grand Slam king is the top seed in Athens. Lorenzo Musetti, seeking the final spot in the ATP Finals, is the second seed. Italian Luciano Darderi is the third seed and American Brandon Nakashima is the fourth seed. Stan Wawrinka received a wild card into the main draw.
Let’s take a look at the complete Athens draws.
Tsitsipas, 27, lost to Daniel Altmaier in the second round of the US Open in five sets.
After Flushing Meadows, Tsitsipas represented Greece in the Davis Cup, defeating Thiago Sebos Wilder before losing to Joao Fonseca 4-6, 6-3, 5-7.
