Heliovara and Paten win ATP finals doubles title – Tennis Now

This year’s Wimbledon champions Harri Heliovaara and Henry Patten defeated Joe Salisbury and Neal Skupski 7-5, 6-3 on Sunday to win the Nitto ATP Finals doubles title for the first time.
The Finnish-British team lost to Salisbury and Skupski in the round-robin stage, ending Salisbury’s bid for a third straight title. Salisbury won the 2022 and 2023 ATP Finals under Rajeev Ram but failed to qualify last year. His winning streak ended at 14 games.
“It feels great,” Heliovara said. “I’ve been to the semi-finals twice. Turin has some advantages. I’ve been to this event three times: semi-final, semi-final and now won. I have nothing to complain about. I like the conditions indoors. Obviously, that’s where I grew up in Finland.”
“It was really exciting to win that last race, the combination of all that hard work and all that time on the road,” Patten said. “We’re about to have a bit of a break and everyone is looking forward to it.”
Salisbury and Skupski were 0-6 in ATP Finals that year.
