Roger Federer has been inducted into the International Hall of Fame in the Class of 2026 after spending 310 consecutive weeks at the top of the PIF ATP Rankings during his illustrious career.
The Swiss legend has won 103 Tour-level titles, second only to Jimmy Connors (109). Federer has lifted 20 major trophies and won 28 ATP Masters 1000 crowns.
“It is a great honor to be inducted into the International Tennis Hall of Fame and to play alongside so many great tennis champions,” said Federer. “Throughout my career, I have always valued the history of tennis and the examples set by those who came before me. It was very special to receive this news at the Swiss Tennis Federation, surrounded by the next generation of players – this is where my own journey first began.
“I am deeply honored to be recognized by the sport and my peers in this way. I look forward to visiting Newport next August to celebrate this special occasion with the tennis community.”
Federer was notified of his selection during a conference call by fellow Hall of Famers, including Stefan Edberg and Boris Becker, two players who helped inspire the Swiss superstar.
Federer held the record for consecutive world number one ranking for 237 weeks from February 2004 to August 2008. He has won the ATP year-end No. 1 honorary award from the PIF five times, won the Stefan Edberg Sportsmanship Award 13 times, and was named the ATP Fans’ Favorite Player for 19 consecutive years from 2003-21.
The Class of 2026, which also includes sports broadcaster and journalist Marie Carrillo (contributor category), will be officially inducted into the International Tennis Hall of Fame during the induction celebrations in Newport, Rhode Island, August 27-29, 2026.
