It wasn’t Novak Djokovic’s greatest season ever, but 2025 was still another record-breaking season as the de facto ‘GOAT’ of tennis history continues to cement his place in the sports record books.

Djokovic turns 38 in May, but he hasn’t let his age hold him back in the Grand Slams, reaching the semi-finals at all four Grand Slams, or in the tournaments, where he won his 100th and 101st career ATP titles in Geneva and Athens respectively.

Djokovic achieved a total record of 39 wins and 11 losses this season and won the trophy in Athens in early November, becoming the oldest ATP champion in the Open era.

The Grand Slam king also became the oldest player to reach the semifinals at all four Grand Slams, an incredible feat by all accounts, even if he failed to crack Sinkaraz’s code at the sport’s four Grand Slams this year.

There was also a ranking milestone at the end of the season, with Djokovic slipping to fourth place at the end of the year, breaking the record for the most top 4 spots in ATP history with 16 times. Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer have achieved this feat 15 times each.

Half of Djokovic’s top four finishes (eight times) were No. 1, another all-time record. Federer and Nadal each have five world No. 1 rankings.

The end hadn’t even come yet when Djokovic opened up about his dream of ending his career at the 2028 Olympics in Los Angeles. Can the 24-time Grand Slam champion maintain his top-five status over the next two years? Can he win another Grand Slam? Will he get more titles?

Thankfully, tennis fans will begin to ponder these questions and savor the intrigue as Djokovic continues to push boundaries throughout his illustrious career.
