Tien, Michelsen to join Shelton and Tiafoe in 2026 River Oaks – Tennis Now

Rising American Learner Tian He Alex Michelson Scheduled to return to Houston in the spring.

The pair join a squad that already includes two past champions – the 2023 champions Frances Tiafoe and 2024 champion Ben Shelton – ATP Championship March 28-April 5 at River Oaks Country Club.

Tien and Michelsen, both Southern California natives, are coming off solid seasons in 2025. Tien notched five top-10 wins and surged into the top 30, while Michelsen won 25 races. Both are entering the second week of the 2025 Australian Open.

“It is a pleasure to welcome two of the next generation of American tennis stars back to Houston,” said tournament director Bronwyn Grier. “Throughout the long history of River Oaks tennis, we have always been committed to showing players where they stand. Learner and Alex have already had success on tour, but it feels like they both have outstanding performances.
