Novak Djokovic and Carlos Alcaraz will face off in an exciting showdown in Sunday’s Australian Open final. Djokovic, 38, is seeking a record 11th Melbourne title and 25th Grand Slam trophy, while Alcaraz, 22, is aiming to complete a career Grand Slam.

When is the Australian Open final?

The final between Djokovic and top seed Alcaraz will begin on Sunday at 7:30pm local time / 3:30am ET / 9:30am CET.

Djokovic leads Alcaraz 5-4 in the Lexus ATP Head2Head Series, including a four-set victory over the Spaniard in the quarterfinals of last year’s Australian Open. Alcaraz won three of the five major tournaments. Sunday will be the third time they meet in a Grand Slam final, having previously met in the Wimbledon finals in 2023 and 2024, with Alcaraz winning both times.

Djokovic and Alcaraz both competed in Friday’s marathon semifinals. Alcaraz defeated Alexander Zverev in a thrilling match that lasted five hours and 27 minutes, the longest semifinal in the tournament’s history. Djokovic escaped two-time defending champion Jannik Sinner after four hours and nine minutes.
