Alcaraz, Sinner, Bublik join ATP 500 field

Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner have discovered a potential path to their title shot at the 2026 Qatar ExxonMobil Open in Doha, where the ATP 500 draw was revealed on Saturday.

Top seed Alkaraz will face Arthur Rinderknech and is expected to face 2023 champion Daniil Medvedev in the semifinals. The 22-year-old Spaniard is chasing his 26th tour-level title, competing for the first time since winning the Australian Open last month and becoming the youngest man in history to complete a career Grand Slam.

Second seed Sinner also returned to the court for the first time since reaching the Melbourne semifinals. The 24-year-old Italian will make his debut in Doha against Tomas Machac, who leads 2-0 in the Lexus ATP Head2Head Series.

Third seed Alexander Bublik will begin his bid for the Doha title against qualifiers when he faces Felix Auger-Aliassim in the Rotterdam semifinals on Saturday. He is Sinner’s potential opponent in the semifinals. In the second round, Bublik could face former world No. 14 Arthur Fels, who is recovering from an eight-month back injury.

There are several other top 20 players in the PIF ATP rankings among the field, including defending champion Andrey Rublev, 2024 finalists Jakub Mensik and Karen Khachanov. Rublev, a two-time Doha champion, also lifted the trophy in 2020 when it was still an ATP 250 event. Khachanov won the title in 2024.
