Alexander Zverev will compete in the ATP 500 event in Acapulco for the first time since the Australian Open, with the German as top seed.
Zverev, the 2021 Acapulco champion, learned his place in Saturday’s Telecommex draw, drawn by HSBC. The 28-year-old starts against France’s Corentin Moutet and is expected to face Casper Ruud in the semi-finals.
Second seed Alex De Minaur, who recently won the Rotterdam title, is seeking his third Acapulco title, having won the trophy in 2023 and 2024.

Last week, Rudd returned to action for the first time since becoming a father. The Norwegian, seeded third and reaching the Acapulco final in 2024, will look to go one step further and seek his 15th tour-level title.
Five players in the top 20 of the PIF ATP rankings will participate in the Acapulco draw, including last year’s finalist and fourth seed Alejandro Davidovich Fokina. Fifth seed Flavio Coboli opens against home hope Rodrigo Pacheco Mendes.
