Entries are now open for the 2026 Tom Perrotta Tennis Journalism Awards. The annual award, now in its fifth year, recognizes outstanding achievements in tennis journalism and is open to writers 35 and under.

The Tom Perrotta Award is given in memory of the famous American writer Tom Perrotta, whose outstanding contribution to tennis journalism was limited by his untimely death at the age of 44.

Prize money includes a $2,000 cash prize. The winner will be honored in New York on the eve of the U.S. Open. Entrants should note that they will be able to claim their prizes in person. The winner will receive an additional $500 for transportation.

Applications should include a brief resume and examples of the applicant’s two most recent publications. Examples can be in any language, but articles should be translated into English before submission. Additionally, entrants should explain how the cash prize will help their career.

Entries will be blindly judged by a panel of judges from the International Tennis Writers Association. Submissions should be forwarded to [email protected] Before midnight (EST) on April 20, 2026.

The awards are co-sponsored by the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP), the Women’s Tennis Association (WTA), the International Tennis Federation (ITF) and the International Tennis Writers Association.
