Harri Heliovaara and Henry Patten cemented their dominance in the Middle East by claiming the title at the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships on Saturday.
The third seeds beat Marcelo Arevalo and Matt Pavic 7-5, 7-5 in the ATP 500 final, extending their winning streak to seven matches following last week’s win in Doha. Heliovara and Patten were squandered four match points in the Dubai final last year by Juki Bambri and Alexey Popyrin, but they more than made up for it with clinical performances in their bid for redemption in 2026.
Heliovara and Patten also lifted the trophy in Adelaide in January and now have three titles in 2026 and have climbed to second place in the PIF ATP Live Doubles Team Rankings. Arevalo and Pavich, competing in their first finals this season, jumped three places to sixth place.
“The doubles tournament, as always, is very profitable,” Patten said. “There’s no room for complacency. You’ll climax, and soon, you’ll [can] Find yourself at rock bottom. We’re going to try to ride this bike and keep it as long as possible. “
Heliovaara and Patten capped off the 2025 season with their first titles at the ATP Masters 1000 and the prestigious Nitto ATP Finals in Paris. They have continued this momentum into 2026, winning 21 of their last 23 matches, according to the Infosys ATP Win/Loss Index.
“It’s been a fantastic start to the year,” Heliovara said. “It’s great to play with this guy Henry. We’re good friends off the court and everything seems to be going well on the court, so I want to thank him and of course our opponents Marcelo and Matt. They were No. 1 in the world last year and they can play some really good tennis.”
They became the second team to win three tour-level trophies this year, joining Auckland, Montpellier and Dallas champions Theo Arribach and Albano Olivetti.
