Djokovic lost his 2025 Monte Carlo opener to Alejandro Tabilo, and although the 38-year-old Serbian superstar has made it clear at this stage of his career that he is motivated by winning Grand Slam titles rather than ranking positions, he only lost 10 ranking points by missing Monte Carlo. Djokovic lost the third-set tiebreaker to Jack Draper in the last 16 at Indian Wells and subsequently withdrew from the Miami Open and Monte Carlo Open.

World No. 1 Carlos Alcaraz, No. 2 Yannik Sinner and Alexander Zverev, who will replace Djokovic as World No. 3, all plan to win in Monte Carlo.

Monfils and Kouame join former champions Stan Wawrinka and Matteo Berrettini As a Monte Carlo wild card.
